Construction of the Kaizhouhu Bridge on the Wengkai Expressway in Southwest China's Guizhou province – has made great progress, according to a recent report in the Guiyang Daily.
A lead wire connecting the two sides of the Kaizhouhu Bridge was successfully pulled by a drone, paving the way for the contractors to start installation of the bridge's main cables.
When complete, the Kaizhouhu Bridge will be 1,120 meters long and span the Qingshui River.

The construction scale of the suspension bridge ranks it second in its category in Guizhou province.
The bridge is a key project for the 48.7 kilometer-long Wengkai Expressway, which connects Wengan county in Guizhou Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture and Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of the province.
The expressway started construction on March 30, 2018 and will take four years to complete, costing 7.81 billion yuan ($1.12 billion).
