Since the beginning of 2020, Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has achieved 100 percent coverage of rural domestic waste treatment, meaning it has ranked first in the province for nine consecutive months.
Kaiyang has built a total of 1,510 garbage collection points and 18 garbage transfer stations, and completed the installation of GPS positioning systems for 74 rural domestic garbage collection and transfer vehicles.

All the data collected during the garbage treatment process is connected to the "Guizhou Digital Village" app, the digital monitoring platform of Guizhou province's rural waste collection and transportation system.
By using the platform's automatic warning function, Kaiyang is able to dispatch personnel and vehicles in real time for cleaning and garbage removal.
In the first nine months of this year, Kaiyang has harmlessly treated a total of 51,864 metric tons of domestic waste.
