Tourists made 2.33 million trips to Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, over the eight-day combined holiday for National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival. The statistic represents 84.48 percent of the tourist volume from the same period last year.
Meanwhile, according to a report in Guiyang Daily, revenue generated by tourism in the county reached 1.35 billion yuan.
Nanjiang Grand Canyon, Nanjiang Water Happy Valley and Shili Hualang countryside scenic area were among the top tourist spots in Kaiyang.

The most popular themed tours focused on sightseeing, leisure activities, rural adventures, cultural experiences and healthcare. Meanwhile, self-driving tours and individual tourists from surrounding areas have become the main force of Kaiyang's tourism industry.
In recent years, Kaiyang has strengthened investment in countryside sightseeing development, to improve its tourism facilities and explore new travel routes.
Rich activities, such as agricultural experiences, tea garden sightseeing and Bouyei ethnic culture tours, have been launched to entertain tourists and have become a new driving force for tourism growth.
