Kaiyang improves rural garbage disposal system

A few days ago, Kaiyang county in Guizhou province purchased five additional garbage transfer vehicles -- aiming to expand the rural garbage disposal system and improve the living environment in country areas, according to local officials.

They said the vehicles all immediately went into use in Gaozhai village, Nanlong township, Longshui township, Shuangliu town and Jinzhong town.

Officials said in the current year, 323 more garbage bins have been installed in rural areas in Kaiyang.

A total of 17 refuse transfer trucks have gone into use, to improve the region's garbage disposal capacity.

The coverage rate of villages with garbage collecting and transferring facilities has reached up to 90 percent, a symbol of the improvement of the rural garbage disposal system.

In addition, Kaiyang will also work hard to collect funds which can be invested, to continue to promote the construction of sanitation infrastructure, officials said.
