To make parking and travel easier, more convenient, and efficient in urban areas, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have accelerated the construction of smart parking lots in areas with heavy traffic such as schools, parks, and commercial areas.
Since the opening of Qingyun Road Pedestrian Street in 2022, the number of pedestrians on the street has been increasing rapidly, exceeding the capacity of surrounding parking spaces.
In 2023, to alleviate parking difficulties around Qingyun Road, the Qingyun Road Smart Parking Lot project was launched.
It adopts intelligent stereo mechanical parking garages, which not only double the number of parking spaces available, but also make parking more convenient. When retrieving their vehicle, drivers can enter their license plate number on the smart display screen, wait for two minutes, and the vehicle will be automatically delivered to the gate.
The Jianhu Road Parking Lot is located next to Guiyang No 1 High School, across from Guanshanhu District First Primary School and Guanshanhu Jingying Kindergarten, and near the Guanshanhu District Youth Art Education Center and the west entrance of Guanshanhu Park.
Exiting from the side door of Guiyang No 1 High School leads directly to the parking lot, where parents can park when dropping off or picking up their children, without having to park on the roadside of Jinyang South Road as before, which increases traffic congestion.
Additionally, parents of students at Guanshanhu District First Primary School only need to walk two minutes to reach the parking lot, making it a highly convenient option.
The Shahe Street Public Parking Lot is located south of an old residential area, directly facing the back entrance of the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University to the north, with a high density of pedestrian traffic and extremely limited parking space in the surrounding area.
After the completion of the parking lot, the parking space shortage on Zhonghua North Road, at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, and in the old residential areas of Shahe Street will be largely alleviated.
It will play an important role in alleviating parking difficulties in the surrounding areas and promoting the high-quality and high-standard development of Guiyang's parking industry.
The lot's first and second floors underground will be self-service garages, the first and second floors above ground will be service rooms, and the third to 16th floors will be intelligent parking garages.
With a height of 83.8 meters, it will be the tallest and has the most floors of any smart parking lot in the country, with a planned 906 parking spaces, including 34 with charging piles.
When driving to the parking lot, drivers will have the option to choose one-click parking and retrieval methods such as license plate recognition, facial recognition, and mobile recognition.
The parking and retrieval process will take less than two minutes, making it quick and convenient. There will be no need to drive around looking for a parking spot like in traditional parking lots, saving a lot of time.
