In recent years, Baiyun district of Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been practicing the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and has been promoting the ecological restoration and management of its abandoned mines. Presently, 10 mine restoration and management projects have been completed, covering an area of approximately 66.52 hectares.

The district has established a leadership group for mine restoration and management, and it also has formulated a work plan that outlines the rectification content, objectives, responsible parties, and rectification deadlines for these projects.

Third-party organizations have been invited to systematically investigate the geological, environmental, and meteorological conditions of each mine.

Comprehensive restoration methods, such as backfilling, vegetation planting, and land reclamation, have been comprehensively utilized to achieve systematic restoration.

For areas with unsatisfactory restoration progress, extensive afforestation projects have been implemented. Through replanting and vegetation restoration, over 60,000 saplings of multiple types of trees, as well as over 66 hectares of grass, have been planted.
