A municipal work meeting on the utilization and processing of mineral resources was held in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Feb 25.
Related government departments were urged to transform the natural resources in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area into industrial and economic advantages.
Officials were required to optimize the distribution of mineral resources, identify the specific distribution and utilization periods of these resources, and adhere to centralized, safe, and sustainable mining methods.
Efforts will also be taken to expand the phosphate chemicals, aluminum and aluminum processing, geothermal energy, and sand and gravel industries in order to further extend the industrial chain. These efforts will also help to increase added value, strengthen cooperation with top-notch universities and research institutions, and empower the mining process with big data technology.
