Figures on 3rd land investigation issued

A report on the third land investigation of Guiyang was released on Jan 21 in a municipal news conference, aiming to figure out how land is utilized in the city.

The report was conducted by several government departments, including the Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning.

Statistics collected from the report show that Guiyang currently possesses 2.87 million mu (191,006.67 hectares) of arable land, 6.29 million mu of woodland, 66,900 mu of grassland, 4,000 mu of wetland, 1.21 million mu of residential areas and industrial and mining areas, 403,200 mu of land for transportation, and 264,500 mu of land for waters and water conservancy facilities.

Construction land in Guiyang totaled 1,481,100 mu, an increase of 660,000 mu since the second land investigation, which is beneficial to Guiyang's economic and social development.

Among the available arable land, there are 700,000 mu of paddy fields, 13,200 mu of irrigated fields, and 2.15 million mu of dry farmland. About 29.08 percent of the arable land is in Kaiyang county, with all of it yielding two crops each year.

About 41.23 percent of the city's grassland is located in Huaxi district and Kaiyang county.

All wetlands in the city belong to the inland beach, and 93.26 percent are located in Qingzhen city and Kaiyang county.
