To improve its property rights system for natural resources assets, Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has streamlined its registration of ownership of all natural resources.
The unified registration of natural resources takes real estate registration as its foundation and demands clear property entities and ownership among collectives and government departments. It will assist with land use control and environmental protection and conservation.
The registration work was approved by the Guiyang municipal government in September last year. Documents involved in the registration were collected from the Guiyang bureau of forestry, ecology and environment, water management and agriculture and rural affairs and analyzed for improved processing.
Two months later, four municipal natural resources in key areas were registered under the improved system – the Yanying Lake National Wetland Park (covering 487.89 hectares); Denggao Yunshan Forest Park (367.22 hectares); Pudu River (26.6 kilometers long) and the Changpoling National Forest Park (847.72 hectares).
In addition, follow-up meetings were held in December and in January with government departments in Guiyang and in Wudang district.
