Guiyang achieves 6.1% growth in added value of industries

In 2020, the added value of industries above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.89 million) or more – in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, increased by 6.1 percent year-on-year, ranking first in the province, according to the municipal bureau of industry and information technology.

The growth rate was 1.1 percentage points higher than the provincial rate and 3.3 percentage points higher than the country.

Throughout the year, the city promoted the development of the industrial economy while ensuring the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, steadily improving innovation capabilities and continuously optimizing the industrial structure.

In January and February of 2020, the city made every effort to help companies resume work and production. It allowed companies to solve more than 1,000 problems related to market development, raw material procurement, logistics and transportation, and energy utilization.

The city's industrial enterprises above designated size and industrial projects under construction all resumed work and production on Feb 24.

In terms of financial support, a total of 8.69 billion yuan of policy-based risk compensation credit has been issued, helping to address various financing issues faced by enterprises.

Guiyang invested more than 1 billion yuan in supporting enterprises facing labor, electricity and financial logistics problems and helped 43 enterprises obtain 2.73 billion yuan in working capital loans. It also helped 72 enterprises apply for emergency funds totaling 873 million yuan, effectively assisting enterprises to increase production.

The city created 49 national-level industrial internet innovation and development projects relying on its advantages in big data, industrial internet and other fields. Guiyang also developed smart manufacturing demonstration projects and pilot enterprises for the integration of industrialization and informatization.

The city additionally launched 64 provincial-level smart manufacturing pilot demonstration projects.

In terms of investment promotion and project construction, Guiyang signed and introduced 145 industrial projects with an investment of more than 100 million yuan throughout the year, with a total agreed investment of more than 70 billion yuan.

In 2020, the city added more than 30 national-level enterprise technology centers and provincial-level manufacturing innovation centers. Also, 19 companies and parks in the city won the titles of national-level and provincial-level green factories and green supply chain management enterprises.
