A delegation from the Department of Natural Resources of Guizhou Province on May 14 visited Hankaisi Intelligent Technology Co, a high-tech company based in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou in Southwest China.
The delegation – led by inspector Wang Long – went to the self-driving lab to get a closer look at the operations of self-driving equipment.
They were briefed on the company's development and had talks with experts its self-driving technology, navigation maps and the application of China's Beidou satellite navigation system.
Wang lauded Hankaisi's development, predicting it could grow into a unicorn – a start-up company worth $1 billion or more – in the big-data sector in three years.
He mentioned the links between the company's development with the natural resources authorities, adding that the provincial natural resources department and the Guiyang natural resources and planning bureau would support it.
As self-driving technology is these days a top priority for industrial development, Wang looked forward to progress in the construction of a provincial surveying and mapping geographic information industrial park.
He urged the company to be flexible and integrate with other technologies and intensify its technological work with industrial associations and research institutes, so as to promote cooperation and boost the industry.
