The Guiyang bureau of natural resources and planning -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has been working hard to tackle poverty.
It had been hard at work in Guiyang's Wudang district, as well as in Xifeng county administered by the city and in other impoverished places.
A team was sent by the bureau to carry out poverty-relief work including visiting low-income families, listening to their requirements and reporting back first-hand on the information they obtained to the local government, to get a better service.
Some of the team members lent their assistance to grassroots party organizations, participating in the restructuring of the agricultural industry and lobbying for individual project support. Others worked in the field, to promote poverty alleviation in various industries.
In the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the team acted quickly to join the fight against the epidemic.
It participated in the research and deployment of epidemic prevention and control measures, worked at check points and carried out risk evaluations.
A number of team members came up with good solutions to help speed up recovery of production and the restoration of normal living conditions for residents
