Xifeng holds nucleic acid test drill to strengthen virus prevention

In response to the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic in some parts of China, Xifeng county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a nucleic acid test drill on Aug 18 in Yongyang sub-district to enhance the county's ability to respond to emergency medical affairs. 

County government officials Luo Xuxiang and Kang Lina participated in the drill. 

The drill was based on a scenario in which an imported case was just discovered in the county, and the Xifeng government needed to launch nucleic acid tests in all districts and administrative levels ad increase the sampling scale gradually to ensure all residents of Xifeng county have been examined and infection risk has been eliminated. 

The emergency response drill started when the epidemic prevention and control team of Yongyang sub-district received an order to carry out an all-member nucleic acid test. 

The sampling sites of the sub-district were established and ready for use within four hours. And then medical staff members reached these sites, local residents were directed by community workers to put on masks, have their temperatures taken, register their personal information, and go through the sampling work in an orderly manner. 

The drill has raised the government's capability to handle medical emergencies and coordinate work at all levels.
