Guiyang has established friendship city or friendly exchange city relationships with 32 cities worldwide, facilitating extensive exchanges and cooperation in areas such as culture and tourism, environmental protection, youth exchanges, and urban governance, according to information released at the Guizhou Cross-border Tourism Promotion Conference 2026 held on March 30 as part of the 20th Guizhou Tourism Development Conference.
Notably, 15 friendship city relationships have been established since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).
Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport has opened 15 international and regional passenger routes to destinations including Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong and Macao, as well as seven international cargo routes.
The airport is also a designated port under the 240-hour visa-free transit policy. Travelers from 54 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, and South Korea, can enjoy a visa-free stay of up to 10 days with a connecting ticket.
In addition, Guiyang has established close trade ties with more than 211 countries and regions around the world.
"Guiyang is not just a travel destination; it is a high-quality living environment where one can 'return to authenticity and achieve physical and mental well-being,'" said Hu Lin, director of the Guiyang Bureau of Culture and Tourism, during the conference.
She extended a sincere invitation to global culture and tourism entrepreneurs, creative planners, and content creators to explore Guiyang and delve deep into its natural landscapes and cultural texture, letting the charm of "Cool Guiyang" shine brightly.
