Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, and Sumy, a city in northeastern Ukraine, held an online meeting on March 20 to discuss further cooperation, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between the two cities.
Han Liyun, Director of Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, along with Anastasiia Tkachova, Head of the Department of Investment, International Cooperation, Environmental Protection, Energy Efficiency and Climate Policy of the Sumy City Council, Valerii Sorokin, the department's deputy head, and Vitaliy Zhylenko, Advisor to the Sumy City Mayor.
The two sides identified the way forward for cooperation in the areas of education, healthcare, big data, infrastructure, and youth exchanges. They agreed to further refine action plans and clarify implementing entities after the meeting, striving to achieve tangible results.
Both sides also agreed to maintain communication through online channels to facilitate project-based cooperation and promote practical collaboration and friendly exchanges across more sectors.
Looking ahead, the two cities will take the fifth anniversary of their friendship-city relationship as an opportunity to continuously expand areas of exchange, enhance the level of cooperation, and further deepen and strengthen their friendly ties.
