The 2026 Guizhou Inbound Tourism Cooperation Kick-off Meeting was held on Jan 5 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Beginning with a performance showcasing Guizhou's unique ethnic customs, the meeting featured an innovative promotional event "This is Guizhou", in which overseas influencers and cultural and tourism representatives immersed audiences in the province's natural scenery and cultural charm.

The number of inbound tourists on Guizhou's online tourism platform increased by 40 percent year-on-year in 2025, and consumption revenue rose 54 percent year-on-year. In the first half of the year, the number of tourists from Malaysia and Thailand doubled, with Guizhou quickly emerging as a popular destination for tourists worldwide.

The meeting also unveiled the "Ctrip: Guizhou Inbound Tourism Development Report 2025", which outlined the core direction for Guizhou's market development through big data analysis of global tourists' consumption preferences, behavioral characteristics, and trend dynamics. It provided a high-value data foundation and practical guidelines for formulating precise marketing strategies and international promotion pathways, accelerating the province's high-quality integration into the global tourism industry chain.

During the thematic discussion session, experts from the culture and tourism industry discussed how to transform Guizhou's unique natural environment and ethnic culture into offerings that attract global tourists, exploring paths to make the province a world-class destination.

The meeting adopted a "one launch ceremony + one industry meeting + three sub-meetings" model, helping Guizhou showcase its new tourism image globally, and promote matchmaking between cultural and tourism resources and international market demand.

Travel merchants from various countries also conducted field visits to the province's tourism routes, immersing themselves in its natural and cultural charm, and laying a strong foundation for future cooperation.

Guizhou will continue to optimize its inbound tourism services and smart experiences, expand the tourism industry chain, and enhance international reception capabilities, with Ctrip and Guiyang collaborating to ensure the stable and healthy development of the hotel and tourism market.
