A total of 74,000 passengers were international visitors, a year-on-year increase of 267.23 percent. Of them, 29,000 benefited from mutual visa exemptions, unilateral visa waivers, and 24-hour/240-hour visa-free transit policies, up 275.67 percent year-on-year.
Guiyang's outbound tourism market has also performed exceptionally well. Since last year, more than 173,000 Chinese mainland residents have entered and exited the country through Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, a year-on-year increase of 98.87 percent.
"With the introduction of a series of visa-free policies, especially the optimization of visa-free measures for transit travelers, foreign nationals can now choose from a variety of ways to come to China. Even during transit, they can travel across multiple provinces in China," said Kuang Lei, a representative of the Guizhou General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection.
