The Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office held the 2025 Translation Summary and Ability Improvement Event on Dec 30 to enhance the linguistic proficiency of foreign affairs personnel in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.

In her speech, Han Liyun, secretary of the leading Party members group and director of the office, affirmed the performance of language functionaries in various foreign affairs activities in 2025. She emphasized the need to strengthen the ability to accurately translate and interpret current political expressions and local characteristic terminology, and to foster cooperation in fields such as the economy and trade, culture and tourism, and ecological progress through the "translation+" and "foreign affairs+" models.
Lu Yuanyue, an expert member of the Translators Association of China, delivered a special lecture titled "The Role of Interpreters," inspiring participants to consider how to become excellent interpreters. She also organized one-on-one simulation exercises to help language professionals sharpen their practical skills.

The Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office demonstrated remarkable translation performance in 2025, completing 69 multilingual interpretation sessions and reviewing over 700,000 words of substantive written translations, providing strong support for major foreign-related events.
It will collaborate with the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province in 2026 to optimize the learning, training, and incentive mechanisms, thereby establishing a solid foundation for entrepreneurship and innovation, and helping Guiyang and Gui'an achieve a higher level of opening-up.
