The competition attracted over 1,700 beers from 35 countries, including 204 from China, and was evaluated by 80 international top judges using professional, stringent standards.
According to Zhang Ziang, founder of TripSmith, the Nature Wild Strawberry Barrel-Aged Beer is produced using natural fermentation, relying mainly on wild microbes and the microbial community in aged oak barrels. The beer also used Brettanomyces yeast to ferment, creating a unique flavor.
The beer's raw materials are sourced from high-quality strawberries and apricots native to Guizhou province. These delicious fruits, nurtured by the beautiful mountains and waters, add a rich local flavor and fresh taste.
The Brussels Beer Challenge was founded in 2012 and has become one of the most influential beer competitions worldwide, renowned for its rigorous evaluation process and high award value. It is held annually in a touring format, focusing on different regions and showcasing the unique charm of beer while celebrating local tourism resources and culinary culture.
Next April, Zhang will attend the 2025 Brussels Beer Challenge China Regional Awards Ceremony in Shanghai.
