Wang Hong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Guiyang, met with Pov Somnang, Special Advisor to the Secretary-General of ASEAN, who also serves as Chairman of the China-ASEAN Business Council and Vice President of the University of Cambodia, and his delegation, on Oct 24, engaging in discussions regarding deepening cooperation.
Wang Tong, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Business Council, and He Fei, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Guiyang, were also in attendance.
Wang Hong extended a warm welcome to Pov Somnang and his delegation. He stated that Guiyang and Gui'an New Area are currently studying and implementing the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, accelerating the development of a pioneering zone for the development of an inland open economy.
He expressed hope that both sides will explore potential for cooperation in areas such as industrial development, culture and tourism, sports, finance, and summer retreats, expanding the scope of cooperation to help Guiyang and Gui'an achieve a higher level of opening-up. He assured that every effort will be made to provide excellent services and support.
Pov Somnang expressed gratitude for the care and support extended by Guiyang and Gui'an. He said that the ASEAN Secretariat and the China-ASEAN Business Council would continue to act as bridges, vigorously supporting the deepening cooperation between Guiyang- Gui'an and ASEAN to facilitate high-quality local development.
Members of the China-ASEAN Business Council delegation and officials from relevant municipal departments were also present at the meeting.
