Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province aims to become an inland hub of open economy. It is focusing on expanding open channels, strengthening open platforms, and optimizing the open environment to boost economic growth.

Last year, Gui'an's import and export volume reached 10.79 billion yuan, accounting for 14.2 percent of the province's total. In the first quarter of this year, the area's total import and export trade volume of goods reached 3.45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 52 percent.

In 2023, the actual utilization of foreign investment in Gui'an increased by 88 percent year-on-year, far exceeding the average growth rate of Guizhou and Guiyang.

Gui'an is an important part of the Central Guizhou Economic Zone, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, the main transportation axis connecting Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao and Chongqing-Chengdu, and the Shanghai-Kunming Corridor. It is also a hub connecting with the Chengdu-Chongqing region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and ASEAN.

Gui'an has constructed a comprehensive transportation system linking both domestic and international areas and continues to strengthen its efforts to build open business platforms for the Gui'an Free Trade Zone, Guiyang Big Data Sci-tech Innovation City, Huaxi University Town, Zhanjiang Industrial Park, Shenzhen-Gui'an Industrial Park, and Suzhou-Gui'an Industrial Park.

In addition, Gui'an is focusing on market demand in Southeast, South and Central Asia, inviting enterprises to participate in key domestic and international exhibitions such as the China Import and Export Fair, strengthening economic and trade exchanges with African countries, and helping more enterprises and products from Gui'an go global.

Gui'an has launched an international trade "single window", facilitating tax and fee payments between tax departments, customs, and banks.

Additionally, measures such as "advance customs declaration", "two-step customs declaration", "two-stage customs access", and "customs clearance after leaving the port" have been implemented to streamline customs procedures, optimize the open environment, and enhance service quality.
