An international freight train of the "Yunnan-Guizhou‧Lancang-Mekong Line" departed from Guiyang International Land Port, loaded with Guizhou products such as tires and laundry aids, on Dec 8.
The train, making its way through the provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou, is expected to reach Vientiane, Laos, in approximately eight days.
It marks the first joint operation of an international freight train between the provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou.
Zhou Yajun, assistant general manager of Guiyang Feiliks Supply Chain Management Co, the organizer of this shipment, explained, "The opening of this line shortens the transportation time for goods from Guizhou to Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Laos. It provides another convenient channel for Guizhou products to go global, stimulating industries and attracting more businesses to invest in Guizhou."
In 2022, goods from Southeast Asia are set to be transported via the China-Laos Railway, connecting with the China Railway Express at Guiyang International Land Port and arriving in Budapest, Hungary.
Guizhou-produced products, including laundry detergent, also successfully reached Vientiane, Laos, through the China-Laos Railway, achieving a two-way operation.
Launching this international freight train can enable Guizhou's goods to be exported on a larger scale through the China-Laos Railway, further strengthening the connectivity between Guizhou and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership countries.
