Guizhou University and the University of the Peloponnese in Greece held a video conference to boost their friendly ties and seek greater cooperation on Dec 13, with active support of Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office and the Chinese-Hellenic Association for Economic and Cultural Development.

The conference featured an address by Katsis Athanasios, President of the University of Peloponnese, Zhou Shaoqi, Vice President of Guizhou University, and Yang Liu, Deputy Director of Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office.

Georgios Kagklis, Chairman of the Chinese-Hellenic Association for Economic and Cultural Development, presided over the conference.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions about strengthening teaching and scientific research cooperation, signing a memorandum of cooperation, and building a cultural tourism big data laboratory, relying on the sister city platform.

They reached a positive consensus, and initially defined the implementation and timing of the cooperative project.

Other attendees included Hong Yun, Director of the Office of International Relations at Guizhou University, Li Shaobo, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Public Big Data jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Guizhou province, and Kostas Vassilakis, Dean of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of the Peloponnese.

Representatives from the Tripoli Municipality Office, Guiyang People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Chinese-Hellenic Association for Economic and Cultural Development also participated in the conference.
