Guiyang enhances opening-up through BRI

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). In recent years, Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been actively embracing this global trade initiative.

As part of its efforts, Dulaying Railway Station had successfully dispatched China-Europe freight trains 60 times by Oct 15, reaching the shores of Europe and delivering 46,007 metric tons of goods in 2,994 40-foot containers.

Guizhou, being an inland province, was once faced with logistical challenges due to a 2,000-kilometer distance from the coast and borders. Exporting goods was costly and time-consuming, whether shipping by sea or air. This situation hindered Guizhou's development and became an obstacle for businesses.

Dulaying Railway Station, a freight station under the administration of Guiyangnan Railway Station, played a vital role in bridging Guizhou with the BRI. As the largest freight station in Guizhou and a national comprehensive rail network station, it has leveraged its strategic location, status as a transportation hub, and industrial capabilities, and established effective cooperation mechanisms with Guizhou Railway Investment Group Co and other partners.

Guiyangnan Railway Station also provides comprehensive rail freight services to businesses, reducing logistics costs and transportation time. It has made significant contributions to the economic and social development of Guizhou.

As Dulaying Railway Station continues to improve its functions as an international land port, the establishment of international trade and logistics systems has further positioned Guiyang as a gateway to western China.

This development has helped integrate Guizhou with the BRI, enhancing its role in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, reshaping its foreign trade patterns, and strengthening regional cooperation and interaction.
