A group of ambassadors and senior diplomats from 19 countries and representatives from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) visited the Guizhou National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone Exhibition Center in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 4.
The group learned about the development of big data in Guizhou and explored many achievements made in terms of digital industrialization, industrial digitization, digital governance, and data value creation.
They were impressed by the innovative practices showcased and the integration of big data with traditional industries, rural vitalization, social governance, and public services.
Nhek Soparama, minister counselor of the Cambodian embassy in China, said Cambodia has 5G technology but lacks big data application platforms. She was excited to bring back what she had learned from the center's experience to her country.
John Busuttil, the Maltese ambassador to China, praised Tencent's Qixing Data Center, which is built inside a mountain cave in Guian New Area, utilizing the naturally low temperatures to reduce air conditioning usage and reduce energy consumption.
Reda Oudghiri Idrissi, counselor of the Moroccan embassy in China, said Morocco attaches great importance to its cooperation with Guizhou in the field of big data.
In recent years, Morocco has come to regard promoting industrial digital transformation as one of its key development strategies. The counselor believed Morocco can further learn from China and Guizhou in areas such as digital governance and e-commerce.
After their visit to the experience center, the group went to Anshun, where they took in cultural sites such as Tianlongtun Fortress, the Longgong scenic area, and the Baling River Bridge Museum, as well as enjoyed nighttime views of Huangguoshu Waterfall.
They were amazed by the colorful ethnic culture and beautiful natural scenery of Guizhou, and praised the province's achievements in bridge construction.
