In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2023, or Big Data Expo 2023 for short, is to be held in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, through May 26 to 28, 2023. A special feature is launched to give an overview of the Big Data Expo 2023, review the previous editions of the expo, and demonstrate how the city has excelled in the big data industry.
2023 Expo Highlights
With a theme of "Integrating Digital and Real Economies, Unlocking the Future with Computing Power", the Big Data Expo 2023 will be co-hosted by the National Reform and Development Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the People's Government of Guizhou Province. It will consist of five categories of events, namely Summit and Forums, Exhibition, Expo Release, Contests, and Investment Promotion Events. The Guiyang Industry Expo will be held at the same time.
Summit and Forums
At the Opening Ceremony, renowned Chinese and foreign scholars will give keynote speeches. Big Data Expo Evening Talk is a meeting between the provincial leadership of Guizhou and important guests, contributing to enterprise-government exchanges and collaborations. High-level Dialogues and Professional Forums provide an opportunity for Chinese and foreign guests from political, business, academic, research, media and other fields to share their insight about East-to-West Computing Resource Transfer Project, data elements circulation, data security, industrial Internet, digital governance, digital development, and international friendship cities interactions, among other subjects.
Exhibition
The exhibition, displaying new technologies, products, solutions, and applications in the field of big data, will be staged in six halls, namely, International Comprehensive Hall, East-to-West Computing Resource Transfer Hall, Digital Industry Hall, Industrial Digitalization Hall, Innovation Scenarios Hall, and Digital Life Hall.
Expo Release
During the Expo this year, winners of 15 leading technology achievements and Guizhou's 10 outstanding technology achievements in the big data field will be announced.
Contests
Four contests will be held during the Expo: The Industrial Internet Application Scenario Contest, Big Data and Network Security Elite Contest, Cool Guiyang E-sports Contest, and Data Scenario Application Innovation Contest.
Investment Promotion Events
The Big Data Expo 2023 will pool together resources to provide an open platform for global business and trade collaboration, and to facilitate communication between governments and enterprises, connection between producers and sellers, business matchmaking, talent recruitment, inspections, and visits.
International communications and cooperation on big data
The Big Data Expo 2023 will feature an exhibition zone dedicated to international friendship cities in order to promote communications and cooperation between China and other parts of the world in the big data industry. A total of 13 international friendship cities of Guizhou and Guiyang from eight countries have confirmed their participation, including Greece, Italy, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, the UK, and the U.S.
The exhibition zone will demonstrate the achievements of the friendship cities in such fields as big data, AI, data center and smart city. Among them, Busan of the Republic of Korea will showcase its achievements in building a smart city, Liverpool of the UK will present its achievements in the field of smart healthcare, and Gran Canaria of Spain will share its experience in smart tourism. Fortune 500 companies such as American Airlines and XTO Energy, headquartered in Fort Worth of the U.S., will demonstrate their practices in the integration of big data and the real economy.
The Smart City Forum with International Friendship Cities will be staged during the Big Data Expo 2023 to provide a great opportunity for guests from international friendship cities to share their experience and practices and promote communications and cooperation. The guests will discuss the way forward and prospect of the big data industry to jointly boost its high-quality development.
