The China International Big Data Industry Expo 2023, or Big Data Expo 2023 for short, with a theme of "Integrating Digital and Real Economies, Unlocking the Future with Computing Power", is to be held in Guiyang from May 26 through May 28, 2023.
Five Categories of Events
Summit and Forums. This category of events include the Opening Ceremony, the Closing Ceremony (and the Press Conference), Big Data Expo Evening Talk, High-level Dialogues, and Professional Forums. Renowned Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs, winners of international top awards, and members from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), will give keynote speeches. Big Data Expo Evening Talk is a meeting between the provincial leadership of Guizhou and executives of top Internet companies that contributes to enterprise-government exchanges and collaborations. High-level Dialogues and Professional Forums, organized around "Technological Innovation", "Industrial Innovation" and "Ecological Innovation", provide an opportunity for Chinese and foreign guests from political, business, academic, research, media and other fields to share their insight about the transfer of computing resources from eastern to western China, data factors circulation, data security, industrial Internet, digital governance, digital development, friendly cities interaction, among other subjects.
Exhibition. The exhibition, presenting new technologies, products, solutions, and applications in the field of big data, will be staged in six halls - International Hall, East-to-West Computing Resource Transfer Hall, Digital Industry Hall, Industrial Digitalization Hall, Innovation Scenarios Hall and Digital Life Hall, covering an estimated area of 60,000 m2. Exhibitors' application is ongoing, and close to 100 companies have confirmed their participation, including NTT DATA Corporation, Fujifilm, Kingston, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited, Huawei, and Ant Group.
Expo Release. This is the event that unveils the winners of leading technology achievement awards. During the Expo this year, a review panel headed by academicians is to announce 15 leading technology achievements and 10 provincial outstanding technology achievements in the big data field. A call for entries has been announced worldwide.
Contests. Four contests will be held during the Expo: the Industrial Internet Application Scenario Contest in which global corporate teams will compete to find the solutions for problems in traditional industries like electronic and communication equipment manufacturing, phosphorus chemical engineering, coal mining, aluminum processing, Moutai-flavor liquors, and biopharmaceuticals, and which involves real demands from a package of projects worth 100 million yuan; Big Data and Network Security Elite Contest, aimed to become a prestigious event in the big data and network security field; Cool Guiyang E-sports Games, including the NeXT National Finals and the Honor of King Southwest Invitational Tournament, launched to promote innovation and creation; and Data Scenario Application Innovation Contest, launched as China's first large innovation contest that tries to explore application scenarios and solutions in data factor circulation and transactions.
Business and Trade. The Big Data Expo 2023 will pool together resources to provide an open platform for global business and trade collaboration, and to facilitate communication between governments and enterprises, connection between producers and sellers, business matchmaking, talent recruitment, inspections and visits.
Four Highlights
First, serving the national strategy and helping build a digital China. The expo will bring together the world's top-notch industrial leaders who will share their insight about topics derived from keywords of the year in the big data sector such as "east-to-west computing resource transfer", "real and digital economies integration", "20 points on data", "digital governance" and "digital legislation". By examining strategic deployment for a digital economy, frontier theories, and crucial practices, the Expo will help enhance the country's cyber capabilities and contribute to the effort of building a digital China.
Second, improving the level of internationalization and promoting regional interaction and collaboration. Representatives of foreign governments, international organizations, associations, alliances, and businesses, as well as experts and scholars, will be invited to participate in the Expo and jointly build a professional and open international exchange and cooperation platform, promote international cooperation in digital fields and take part in the Digital Silk Road initiative, bringing about more new opportunities for regional development and socioeconomic prosperity.
Third, boosting the integration of real and digital economies and powering the transformation of traditional industries. "Integrating Digital and Real Economies" will be the overarching theme for all the Expo events, including the forums, exhibition, press conference, contests and business negotiations, in an effort to bring into full play the amplifying and multiplying roles of digital technologies in economic development, provide more solutions for greater integration between real and digital economies and lay a solid foundation for China's modernization drive.
Finally, combining real and virtual scenes for an enhanced digital experience. During the Expo, information technologies like artificial intelligence, Virtual Humans, virtual reality, and immersive spatial projection will be applied to create visually penetrating virtual and real scenes and present more immersive scenarios, bringing big data closer to life and making "data" truly touchable.
