Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office visits consulates general in Chengdu, Chongqing

Liu Song, a member of the leading Party members group and deputy director of the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, led a team to visit consulates general of other countries in Chengdu and Chongqing from March 14-17.

During his visit, Liu met with senior officials of the consulates general of 12 countries in China, including Gadi Harpaz, consul general of Israel in Chengdu; Agha Hunain Abbas Khan, acting consul general of Pakistan in Chengdu; Ingrid Delfs, deputy consul general of Germany in Chengdu; Guillaume Delvallée, consul general of France in Chengdu; Park Sung Hwan, deputy consul general of South Korea in Chengdu; Günther Lazelsberger, consul general of Austria in Chengdu; and Nicole Cooper, deputy consul general of Australia in Chengdu.

Others also included Tim Standbrook, deputy consul general of the United Kingdom in Chongqing; Chen Junyi, deputy head of the Consulate General of Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chongqing; Takada Mari, consul general of Japan in Chongqing; Guido Bilancini, consul general of Italy in Chongqing; and Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, consul general of the Philippines in Chongqing.

Liu introduced the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2023 (Big Data Expo 2023), to be held from May 26-28, to senior officials of the consulates general in Chengdu and Chongqing, and invited all consuls general to participate in the opening ceremony, high-end dialogues, professional forums, exhibitions and other activities of the expo.

The Big Data Expo has become an international event full of cooperation opportunities, leading the development of the industry, and a world-class platform for cooperating on the development of the digital economy and sharing the latest achievements in big data.

Liu also introduced the Eco Forum Global and the China (Guizhou) Alcoholic Beverages Expo to be held in Guiyang in July and September, respectively, expressing hope that the consul generals of various countries will also participate in the events.

Meanwhile, Liu also discussed targeted cooperation opportunities in digital technology, artificial intelligence, rural vitalization, cultural tourism, ecological protection, government-enterprise cooperation, and sister city construction with all parties and put forward suggestions for future exchanges and cooperation.

The relevant senior officials of consulates general of 12 countries congratulated Guiyang on its development achievements in recent years and expressed their willingness to actively participate in activities such as the Big Data Expo 2023.

They expressed hope to further promote practical cooperation with Guiyang in the fields of commerce and trade, science and technology, agriculture, ecology, cultural tourism, and sister city construction.
