A freight train carrying 55 standard containers departed from Guiyang South Railway Station on Jan 5 and is expected to arrive in Russia's Vorsino in 15 days. It is the first China Railway Express freight train operated in Southwest China's Guizhou province this year.
In January, Guizhou plans to operate another five China Railway Express freight trains, which are expected to deliver 330 standard containers, an increase of 80 percent year-on-year.
Since the first freight train of China Railway Express of Guizhou was put into operation in November 2021, the frequency and volume of these freight trains continue to increase in the province.
In 2022, Guizhou operated 34 China Railway Express freight trains, delivering 1,684 containers filled with more than 27,000 metric tons of goods such as guitars, tires, auto parts, electronic products, household appliances and industrial equipment.
Currently, there are more than 10 freight train routes linked to Russia, Hungary, Georgia and Poland.
Wei Yong, president of Guizhou Multimodal Transport Industry Development Co, said that in 2023, Guizhou plans to operate 48 China Railway Express freight trains, which are expected to help Guizhou integrate into the European logistics organization system, optimize Guizhou's business environment, reduce logistics costs, and help with industrial upgrading.
