The 2022 Chinese Bridge Online Education Program of Guizhou Normal University – which is located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – was launched on Nov 7.

During the program, 100 college and university students from Vietnam will take an online tour of Guizhou to experience the province's rich and vibrant culture.

The program was launched by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation at the Ministry of Education of China, for Chinese language and culture for international Chinese learners – aiming to strengthen language and cultural exchanges between China and other countries, and enhance mutual learning.

The program, being organized by Guizhou Normal University, is themed on Colorful Guizhou Ethnic Culture Experience Camp.

It will be conducted through online teaching, livestreaming sessions, online discussions and other teaching methods – with seven sections related to ethnic crafts, ethnic music, ethnic customs, ethnic dance and food – and will provide a one-week class for Vietnamese students.

In addition, Vietnamese students will visit Qingyan Ancient Town, Xijiang Qianhu Miao village and Zaidang Dong village in Guizhou through the livestreams, learning about the food culture of Guizhou and experiencing the daily lives of its locals.

In recent years, in order to gain a deeper understanding of China and Chinese culture, countries around the world have actively carried out Chinese language education.

By the end of 2020, it is estimated that more than 180 countries and regions around the world had carried out Chinese education programs and more than 70 countries had incorporated Chinese into their national education systems.

In 2021, Chinese officially became an official language of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
