Li Bingjun, deputy secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and governor of Guizhou province, met with Khamphao Ernthavanh, Lao ambassador to China, who attended the 2022 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week currently being held in Guizhou, on Aug 22.

On behalf of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Guizhou Provincial Government, Li welcomed Khamphao and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Guizhou.
He said that Guizhou and Laos have a good foundation for cooperation. With the opening of the China-Laos Railway and the official implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, there are broad prospects for the two sides to strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
It is hoped that the two sides will use the 2022 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of education, economics, trade, and sister city development, and share in the benefits of the Belt and Road Initiative, Li added.
Khamphao thanked Guizhou for its warm and friendly reception and congratulated Guizhou on its achievements in economic and social development.
She expressed hope that both sides will preserve and develop the traditional friendship between China and Laos, and implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries on jointly building a China-Laos community with a shared future.
It is hoped that the two sides will further expand cooperation in agriculture, tourism, education and other fields and contribute to enhancing the well-being of the people of both sides and building a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Laos, Khamphao added.
