The first online session of rail transit skills training for people from the Lancang-Mekong region was held by Guiyang Vocational and Technical College from May 24 to 26.
The session was also one of the 2022 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week's year-round projects. It was guided by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province, and Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office.
Trainees from rail transit organizations, universities and colleges in the Lancang-Mekong region attended the session online and learned about railway knowledge and useful Chinese phrases.
Guests from Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia were invited to talk about the cooperation and development of China-ASEAN vocational education, participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, the connectivity of railway transit, and skills training.
The session is expected to contribute to the establishment of a Lancang-Mekong community of common destiny, establish an ASEAN community, and promote the integration process among ASEAN countries.
Liu Yan, president of Guiyang Vocational and Technical College, said that the college will continue to carry out and enhance cooperation with Lancang-Mekong region, and contribute to the training of rail transit talents.
Li Ping, deputy director of the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, and officials from the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office's protocol and information section attended the session.
At the launch ceremony of the session, the Guiyang Vocational and Technical College's training station for overseas talents was unveiled.
The second session will be held in October.
