North China's city and provincial-level municipality of Tianjin reported a COVID-19 Omicron case on Dec 13, which was reportedly the first time the variant was detected in China.
In this case, Guiyang Center for Disease Control and Prevention has reminded the public again on preventative measures.
They should wear masks in public areas, get vaccinations, wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap every time, ensure rooms have fresh air, use serving chopsticks when dining together and keep a social distance from others.
Those who have already been vaccinated are recommended to have booster injections as well.
Travelers from other countries, employees in high-risk jobs and those come from areas with COVID-19 cases, should report to local authorities after arriving in Guiyang. They should cooperate with health departments to quarantine or monitor their health conditions.
All residents are being advised not to travel domestically or abroad unless necessary, while they should follow the latest information from those areas with high risk.
