An online lecture themed on artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, organized by Guiyang University and the consulate general of Japan in Chongqing, was held at Guiyang University in Guizhou's provincial capital on Oct 12.
Hayashi Kento, president of Japan's company DATA SECTION, was invited to the lecture to share Japan's experience in the AI and big data industries and talk with Guiyang University's teachers and students.
Liu Gang, vice president of Guiyang University, said that the university has made efforts to cultivate talent and carry out research related to AI and big data. The university's graduates have contributed to the local development of big data.
Liu expressed hope that the lecture will improve AI and big data education.
Okuma Masaaki, vice-consul of the consulate general of Japan in Chongqing, said that the lecture aims to promote communication between Guizhou and Japan in the AI and big data industries.
Guizhou is currently developing its data industry, while Japan is promoting the application of AI and big data. The lecture will allow both sides to consider the digital industry's influence on social development, and enhance Guiyang's partnership with Japan.
Liu Song, deputy head of the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, said that Guiyang, as a core area of Guizhou's national big data comprehensive pilot area, can learn from Japan's abundant experience in AI and big data.
