Hu Zhongxiong, secretary of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee, met with Lui Tuck Yew, Singapore's ambassador to China in Guian New Area, on Sept 23.
Diplomats from the consulate-general of Singapore in Guangzhou and officials of the Guiyang municipal government also attended the meeting.
The Singaporean diplomats will also attend the 2021 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, which is being held in Guian New Area on Sept 23-29.
Hu welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for their contribution to boosting ties between Guiyang and Singapore. Hu gave a brief introduction of Guiyang at the meeting, and said that Guiyang and Singapore had maintained good relations over the past few years.
Hu expressed hope that both sides would take the meeting as an opportunity to further cooperate in trade, industry, technology, education, culture, and tourism.
Lui praised Guizhou and Guiyang's achievements in poverty alleviation, ecological civilization, and economic development. He discussed exchange and cooperation between China and Singapore, and said that the embassy will work to facilitate cooperation between Guiyang and Singapore.
