Philippines hopes to enhance commerce cooperation with Guiyang

Adrian G. Miras, Vice Consul General of the Philippines in Chongqing, participated in the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2021 (Big Data Expo 2021) in Guiyang from May 25 to 27.

On May 26, Adrian attended the pavilion tour and opening ceremony of Big Data Expo 2021, the High-level Dialogue on Scenario Big Data and other major events.

On the sidelines of Big Data Expo 2021, Adrian visited Geely's production base in Guiyang, holding talks with Wang Xiaohui, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Guanshanhu District Committee; and Zhang Zibo, Marketing Manager of the Philippines at Geely International Sales Company. Wang welcomed Adrian to Geely, hoping that Guiyang would constantly expand Geely's export to the Philippines and deepen economic and trade cooperation with the Philippines with the support of the Consulate General of the Philippines in Chongqing and Adrian, so as to enhance the popularity of Guiyang's Geely brand in the Philippines. Zhang introduced Geely's export to the Philippines and future plan.

Adrian said the Consulate General of the Philippines in Chongqing would provide support for Geely's export to the Philippines within its capacity, and offered suggestions on future cooperation in three aspects: First, Geely should establish a production base and plant in Quezon, to enhance its presence in the Philippines. Second, Geely should establish cooperative relations with Filipino auto parts manufacturers, to help them develop and enhance Geely's influence and leading role in the Philippines. Third, if COVID-19 continues, the Consulate General of the Philippines in Chongqing should try its best to facilitate visa application by Geely's staff bound for the Philippines.

Through vehicle economic and trade exchanges, Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office will work towards the establishment of the sister-city relationship between Guiyang and Quezon, and coordinate sister city building with economic and trade cooperation, so as to contribute to Guiyang's action of strengthening its primacy as the provincial capital.
