As one of the activities of this year's Big Data Expo, a dialogue on digitalization was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 25.
Guiyang's government officials and representatives of Fortune Global 500 enterprises attended the dialogue.
During the event, Chen Jian, vice-chairman of CPPCC Guizhou Committee, spoke about Guizhou's urban development and infrastructure construction and how they have provided opportunities and platforms for digital economy development.
Chen expressed hope that Fortune Global 500 enterprises will enhance cooperation with Guizhou's local enterprises, give full play to Guizhou's data resources, innovate data applications, and achieve rapid development.
Participants of the dialogue also discussed about the future and the latest trends in digital economy and shared their opinions and experiences.
Tao Pingsheng, a member of the CPC Guiyang municipal committee and Guiyang's vice-mayor, pointed out that Guizhou's big data industry relies on government support and the innovation of enterprises.
Tao hoped that more enterprises and institutions can enhance cooperation with Guiyang and achieve mutual development.
Guiyang has in recent years been focused on the big data industry and has achieved various innovation achievements and made progress in big data applications and data resource management.
The meeting was expected to provide new angles for Guiyang and Guian's big data development plan, and explore new approaches of digital economy development.
