Guido Bilancini, consul general of Italy's consulate general in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce's Chongqing office visited the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office on April 20.
Both sides held a meeting to exchange opinions on expanding business exchanges and promoting in-depth cooperation.
Bilancini said at the meeting that Guiyang and Italy should seek cooperation in environmental protection, biomedicine, modern agriculture, big data and commerce.
He also introduced Italy's wine, agricultural machinery and medical-aid helicopters to look for business opportunities.
Gianluca Luisi, a representative of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce's Chongqing office, said that the chamber has 600 company members involved in 11 sectors, including aviation, food, medical treatment, sports and logistics.
The chamber of commerce has established a cooperative relationship with Chongqing and Chengdu, and is looking forward to cooperating with Guizhou and Yunnan.
Zheng Xuke, the full-time vice-president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's Guiyang sub-council, introduced Guiyang's commerce and trade cooperation with Italy and offered suggestions on business cooperation, exchanges, major events and biomedicine.
Zheng hopes that Italy's consulate general in Chongqing and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce's Chongqing office can encourage more enterprises to visit Guiyang, learn about Guiyang's economic development and expand cooperation.
Zhang Mingquan, director of the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, said that Guiyang is currently devoted to enhancing the digital economy, ecological civilization and rural revitalization. The city is also developing a new model of industrialization, a new model of urbanization, agricultural modernization and tourism industrialization.
He hopes that Guiyang and Italy will advance cooperation in these areas in the next five years.
