Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office visits consulates general and intl offices

On April 6-9, the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office visited consulates general and institutions of different countries in Guangzhou and Nanning to discuss cooperation and invite their principals to attend Guiyang's major international events.

It is the second time since March that the foreign affairs office has paid such visits.

The office visited the consulates general of Brazil, Switzerland, Ukraine, Singapore and Belarus in Guangzhou, Malaysia's consulate general in Nanning, the Guangzhou office of the German Chamber of Commerce in China and the Guangzhou office of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China.

The office introduced Guiyang's development situation and its ambition to become a provincial capital with comprehensive strengths.

The office expressed its wish that the leaders of the consulates general and other institutions continue monitoring and supporting Guiyang's development and attend the city's international events, including the Big Data Expo, Eco Forum Global, ASEAN "the Belt and Road" Tourism Culture Exchange Week and China (Guizhou) Intl Alcoholic Beverages Expo.

The office also proposed possible areas of cooperation, such as sister-city relationships, commerce and investment, middle- and high-end consumption, middle- and high-end manufacturing, the digital economy, ecological civilization, tourism, education and sports.

The leaders congratulated Guiyang on its achievements in recent years and expressed their willingness to attend international activities and expand cooperation with Guiyang in the future.

So far, leaders of the Netherlands' consulate general in Chongqing, South Korea's consulate general in Chengdu, Japan's consulate general in Chongqing, Thailand's consulate general in Kunming, Belarus' consulate general in Guangzhou, Pakistan's consulate general in Chengdu, the Philippines' consulate general in Chongqing and the Japan External Trade Organization's Chengdu office have confirmed their attendance at this year's Big Data Expo.
