From March 15 to 19, the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office visited 14 consulates general and institutions in Southwest China.
The consulates general and institutions are set by Italy, Japan, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Israel, South Korea, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Thailand, Cambodia and other countries and regions in Chengdu, Chongqing and Kunming.
During the visits, the heads of the consulates general and other institutions were invited to attend the Big Data Expo, which will be held in Guiyang on May 26-29, and share their opinions on friendly exchanges and cooperation in various areas.
Guiyang has great development and cooperation potential due to its strong economic power and its roles as an inland highland for the open economy and a demonstration area for ecological civilization.
The Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office hopes that the heads of the consulates general and other institutions will continue to support Guiyang and attend the city's major events, including the Big Data Expo, Eco Forum Global, China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, ASEAN "the Belt and Road" Tourism Culture Exchange Week and China (Guizhou) Intl Alcoholic Beverages Expo.
The office proposed cooperation in manufacturing, middle- and high-end consumption, investment, rural revitalization, environmental protection, big data, education and tourism during the visits. Officials also discussed the establishment of friendly relationships.
In the future, the office will maintain close contact with the consulates general and institutions, and cooperate with other government departments to bring about project signings.
