Bruno Bisson, consul general of the Consulate General of France in Chengdu, visited Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province on March 15 and discussed future cooperation with Guiyang's Vice-mayor Wang Ceng.
According to Bisson, two major French companies – Safran Aircraft Engines and Sofitel Hotel – have established a friendly relationship with Guiyang and invested in the city.
Based on previous cooperation, Bisson wishes to introduce more companies from France to Guiyang. Representatives of France's rolling stock manufacturer Alstom and rail transit control system integrator CASCO introduced their basic information, business scope, major projects and branches in China.
Both Alstom and CASCO hope to cooperate with Guiyang on railway transportation construction projects in the future.
Wang Ceng said that Guiyang is a transportation hub in Southwest China and a hub city of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. In the past 10 years, Guiyang's economic growth rate has ranked among the best in China's provincial capital cities.
The city has started to construct six railway transportation projects with a total length of 180 kilometers. Guiyang's Metro Line 1 has been put into operation, Metro Line 2 will be open in the first half of this year and Metro Line 3, S1 and S2 are under construction.
Guiyang welcomes Alstom to apply its experience and technologies to upgrade the city's railway transportation quality. Guiyang's government will provide the best service and business environment for companies to invest.
In the future, Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office will continue encouraging foreign-invested companies to cooperate with Guiyang.
