Guiyang, Guian hold conference on foreign affairs and economy

The working conference for Guiyang and Guian New Area's foreign affairs and foreign economy was held on March 9 in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Zhao Deming, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Guiyang Committee, stressed at the conference that in 2020, Guiyang achieved progress in pandemic prevention and control, enhanced opening-up, furthered international cooperation and stimulated consumption.

In 2020, Guiyang became a member of United Cities and Local Governments, ranked among China's best cities for import and export growth and was approved as a national innovation pilot area for the service trade.

In 2021, Guiyang and Guian should continue to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Guiyang and Guian should continue expanding international economic exchanges and cooperation and enhancing opening up.

The conference also requires Guiyang and Guian to realize integrated development, develop featured industries, establish friendly relationships with more international cities, boost its open economy, enhance cooperation in education, culture, sports and medical treatment, as well as improve city competitiveness and implement pandemic prevention and control measures.
