Guiyang Party school launches 2020 foreign affairs course

Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office and the Party School of the Guiyang Committee of CPC have jointly launched a foreign affairs course.

On Oct 16, they invited Wang Ruibin, deputy director of the Department for World Economy and Development of the China Institute of International Studies, for a lecture to enhance leading officials' sense of responsibility in foreign affairs and improve Guiyang's governance ability.

Wang focused on China-US economic and trade relations in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has hit the global economy hard.

He applied rich data to analyze the structural changes, economic frictions and policy adjustments of the China-US trade relationship and the impact of China-US trade on bilateral relations.

Wang stated that China-US economic and trade relations were an important part, basis and impetus of China-US relations. The steady and healthy development of business served the common interests of the two countries.

He added that the two nations should mutually strengthen political trust, avoid strategic miscalculations, promote free trade negotiations, enrich bilateral economic and trade relations and upgrade the current economic and trade structure. 

The lecture received high praise for its vividness, rich data and thorough analysis.
