Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu (CDETO) met on Sept 18 to discuss cooperation on trade, investment, tourism, culture, education and talent.

Zhang Mingquan, director of Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, introduced the city's development in recent years and said that the office was willing to support exchanges and cooperation between Guiyang and Hong Kong.

The office welcomes Hong Kong's middle- and high-end companies to invest in Guiyang and will organize cultural activities and promote exchanges between schools from both areas. In the future, the office hopes to attract more talents from Hong Kong to Guiyang.

The foreign affairs office is currently working to improve its services for talents who are working in Guiyang, including Hong Kong residents.

Li Wan In, director of CDETO, said that the trade office maintained a close relationship with Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office in recent years, and appreciated the support for Hong Kong's activities in Guiyang.

The opening of the high-speed railway between Guiyang and Hong Kong last year brings more opportunities for both areas and provides convenience for future exchange and cooperation.

CDETO strives to promote Hong Kong's investment and cultural exchanges in the Chinese mainland and wishes to realize mutual development with Guizhou.
