Representatives of Jardine Matheson (China) Ltd visited Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office on Aug 27 to discuss cooperation between the company and Guiyang in areas like automobiles, food, high-end hotels, supermarkets and logistics.
Jardine Matheson is a diversified transnational company covering 30 countries and regions, with business interests in real estate, retail, food and beverages, hotels, automobile trading, engineering and construction, and transportation.
Currently the company has over 110,000 employees on the Chinese mainland and a total investment of 100 billion yuan ($14.64 billion).
The company has various businesses in Guizhou, including supermarkets, 4S stores and logistics companies. It is seeking more opportunities to expand its business and investment in Guiyang.
Zhang Mingquan, director of Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, welcomed the delegation from Jardine Matheson and outlined Guiyang's basic information.
According to Zhang, Guiyang has ranked first in economic growth among China's provincial capitals for six years. As a major hub on the New International Land-Sea Corridor, Guiyang hopes to establish a long-term cooperative relationship with Jardine Matheson.
Guiyang Foreign Affairs officials will link Jardine Matheson up with other related government departments in Guiyang and hopes to contribute to the agreement of projects in the future, Zhang added.
