Southwest China's Guizhou province recently sent medical materials to Sejong Special Autonomous City and South Chungcheong Province in South Korea to help them in its fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.

Both Sejong Special Autonomous City and South Chungcheong Province became Guizhou's friendly city and province in 2016, as well as provided assistances to Guizhou earlier this year to help it prevent and control the COVID-19 outbreak.

Lee Choon-hee, mayor of Sejong, and Yang Seung-jo, governor of South Chungcheong Province, sent letters of thanks after receiving the medical materials. According to Lee, Guizhou’s offer of help during difficult times represents their valuable friendship, adding that he believes that the virus will be overcome with both Guizhou and Sejong working together.
