International community supports Guizhou in novel coronavirus fight

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Southwest China's Guizhou province has received medical supplies donated by sister cities, international companies, social organizations, and Chinese business associations from all over the world.

Japan's Saga prefecture has established friendly communications with Guizhou for over 20 years. In the name of the prefecture, Governor Yoshinori Yamaguchi and Saga donated 6,000 N99 respirators on Jan 31 and 20,000 common respirators on Feb 6, becoming the first overseas area to make donations to Guizhou for its battle against the epidemic.

Companies and organizations like Tokyo-based Nicchu Peace Travel Service Co and the Japan-China Friendship Association in Gunma prefecture donated 5,000 common respirators, expressing their best wishes for Guizhou.

As regions of friendship, Lozere region in France and South Chungcheong province in South Korea donated 16,000 respirators and 9,000 KF 94 respirators respectively to Guizhou.

Yang Seung-jo, governor of South Chungcheong province, said that South Korea will share the joys and sorrows with Guizhou during this difficult time, expressing wishes to revisit Guizhou soon in the spring.

In addition, overseas Chinese and friendship associations in Argentina, Hungary, Greece, Malaysia, Morocco, and many other countries donated respirators, surgical gowns, and other contributions to support Guizhou’s efforts to fight against the virus.

With the help from the international community, Guizhou has confidence that it will win the fight and enhance its friendship with all the countries in the future.
