Southwest China's Guiyang city has been praised for its strategy of pursuing high-standard requirements, high-level opening-up and high-quality development, by Lars Eskild Jensen, who took his position as the consul of the Royal Danish Consulate General in Chongqing in August.
Jensen made his positive remarks about Guiyang on Dec 10, when he led a delegation to a meeting with government officials from the Guiyang foreign affairs office.

Zhang Mingquan, director of the office, welcomed Jensen's visit and gave a brief introduction to Guiyang's economic and social development.
Guiyang now has a strong development momentum as its economic growth rate has remained No 1 of all capital cities across China for six consecutive years, Zhang said.
He pointed out that Guiyang is dedicated to developing itself into an influential and international city, featuring medium and high-end consumption trade in goods and manufacturing.
He also expressed his hope for more and deeper exchanges with Denmark, especially in culture, tourism, big data and agricultural modernization, as the country is one of the key supports in Guiyang's efforts to advance its opening-up.
Jensen agreed on the cooperation areas with Guiyang and said that both sides are embracing unprecedented cooperation in agriculture, medicine, food, culture and environmental protection, due to a profound history of friendship between China and Denmark.
By marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Denmark, which falls on next year, the consul also put forward his determination to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Guiyang and Denmark in fields such as water affairs digitalization, sewage treatment and vocational education.
During the meeting, Zhang also invited the consul for Danish enterprises and experts to attend more Guiyang-based events, including the spotlighted big data expo and the eco-forum.
