Montferland, a city in the Netherlands, is willing to establish friendship with Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, and will enhance cooperation by encouraging more enterprises to the city, as well as attend the Big Data Expo, said Peter de Baat, mayor of Montferland.

During his visit to Guiyang Dec 9, De Baat expressed his hope for further exchanges and cooperation in a variety of fields, including agriculture, culture and tourism, medium and high-end manufacturing and trade.
Sun Zhiming, vice-mayor of Guiyang and a member of the standing committee of the CPC Guiyang committee, Gu Lihui, deputy secretary-general of the Guiyang city government, Zhang Mingquan, director of the Guiyang foreign affairs office and other government officials attended the meeting.
Sun said that Guiyang is also looking forward to establishing friendship with Montferland, and expressed his hope that more Dutch enterprises will come to Guiyang, enhancing bilateral cooperation in agriculture, culture, tourism, commerce and trade.
Located in Gelderland province and close to Germany, Montferland boasts beautiful scenery and a developed agriculture industry. Due to its proximity to western Europe through expressways and railways, as well as the Rhine river, the city is on a fast logistics development track.
Also, Montferland is home to the Netherlands' biggest moat castle, which has a collection of extraordinary artworks and is an attractive tourist destination.
Both Guiyang and Montferland are expected to further mutual understanding, and promote exchanges and cooperation in more fields and at more levels.
