Twenty-eight senior journalists from 14 African countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) visited Guiyang, Bijie, and Qiandongnan in Southwest China's Guizhou province from Sept 21 to 24 to participate in the Belt and Road News Network (BRNN) media workshop.
The workshop aims to teach foreign journalists about Guizhou's achievements in alleviating poverty, applying big data, developing into an ecological civilization, and preserving intangible cultural heritage.
During the four-day trip, journalists were impressed by Guizhou's infrastructure in rural areas and were inspired by the province's use of big data to spur regional development.
The workshop will end on Sept 29 after the journalists visit Shaanxi, Zhejiang, Guizhou, and Shandong. Various lectures, discussions, and visits will teach the journalists much about China and the significance of the BRI.
